Yesterday was my birthday, and I spent it studying math. Possibly my lamest birthday ever, even considering I've spent about the last ten years writing exams right around my birthday, none have been this plain. Pure plain. But that's behind me now, and so are 100 days of (very inconsistent) training.
Tonight's ride was weird. It was cold and wet, but there was something else that just didn't feel right, so I turned around at half my planned ride. Ended up doing 15.42 in 38:36. If you follow that link, ignore the power data... I'm not sure what's going wrong with my gauge, but I know I wasn't pushing 600W for 40 minutes!
On another note, Marty showed me this article about some hope for the fight against malaria. It was a nice birthday present to think that some of the work I've been doing is in some way a part of this success. Hopefully the next 100 days of this fundraising will see more donations than the first... two donations would be twice what I raised in the first 100 days!
